Natural lavender soap, enriched with shea butter, sweet almond oil and lavender flowers picked from the North York Moors, with added cornflowers.

The lavender oil in this soap is harvested from flowers in France growing at high altitudes, combined with our own beautiful lavender, for which North Yorkshire is well known. Lavender is calming to the nerves and can help lift low moods; it is effective for letting go of nervous exhaustion and is a good analgesic for muscular aches and pains, including sports related injuries, rheumatism and arthritis.

The Latin name, ‘cyanus’ was given to the Cornflower after a youthful devotee of the goddess Flora (Cyanus), as it was her favourite flower. The name of the genus is derived from the Centaur, Chiron, who taught mankind the healing virtue of herbs. It has long been cultivated as a garden plant, in several colours. Cornflowers have a soothing and astringent effect on the skin and contain antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

We have added a little alkanet root powder to give this soap its lovely natural colour and the lavender and cornflowers’ gentle properties soothe and relax both mind and body.
