bog myrtle, lemongrass and heather
Vendor Annwyn Botanicals
Decorated with heather buds from the North York Moors, our Bog myrtle, lemongrass & heather soap is a real breath of fresh North York moorland air: Bog myrtle is most commonly used as an alternative to citronella as an insect repellent & also works as a bactericide, making it good for open pores and acne. Lemongrass is also used as an insect deterrent, having anti-depressant, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties too; it is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine.
Safflower petals give the soap its beautiful natural colour: known as the Sun herb, Traditional Chinese Medicine has long used this plant. In Japan, this dye on silk was reserved for women of high rank and geishas made lipstick from crushed safflower petals mixed with water. In medieval Europe, the petals were used in place of saffron. To match its colour, the soap has a wonderfully fresh, exhilarating aroma!
